The latest proposal for this highly integrated LOHAS destination in the city of Zhuhai has at its main highlight a bridge-shaped yacht club: hovering above the yachts underneath it aims to become a landmark of this newly developed riverside area by offering unique dining experiences to its members.

DECEMBER 2014 - MWSR: A MOUNTAIN IN THE MOUNTAINS

 

The simple yet powerful profile of this ski resort complex echoes its magnificent surroundings while at the same time conjuring images of a safe and welcoming retreat within the vast, frozen landscapes of north-east China. The extensive covered terraces provide shelter for a large scope of activities, while sometimes protending out from the main volume, like lookout cliffs hovering above the snow-capped landscape.

NOVEMBER 2014 - JYLS: Under the Roof

This proposal for an integrated yachting lifestyle hub in Zhuhai attempts to turn a former industrial shoreline into a main urban attraction by bringing together different functions and activities under a unifying green roof that becomes a  recognizable landmark for the area, while at the same time providing offering respite for the customers during the hot tropical days.

OCTOBER 2014 - SYCM: Green Mounds

The revised design for this Zhuhai project dwells on the immediate adjacency to a forested mound formation to  create similar morphologies on its site, thus aiming at a better integration of the yacht club and its facilities within the tropical landscape.

SEPTEMBER 2014 - SYCM: Bridging the Activity Gap

NDA's solutions for the development of  a brand new Yacht Club and Marina in Zhuhai are presented to the Huafa Group. The main option features a bridge connection meant to strongly increase the cohesion between  two sites separated by a future urban artery, an active link that engenders value-adding spatial features such as a marina-facing event pavilion, an elevated members' plaza and a terraced F&B court.

AUGUST 2014 - JLTC: Less is More

NDA's alternative proposal for the Jinhai Lake Tourist Center is presented to the Riverside Group in Beijing. The aim of the new proposal is to assist the Client reduce both the investment costs and the environmental impact on the breathtaking natural environment by downsizing the built area from 24.000 sqm to just over 7.000 sqm, while at the same time greatly improving the users' experience. Guests would descend from the elevated arrival area towards the waterscape, through a landscaped "cave" that would culminate in a sheltered belvedere platform overlooking the lake and surrounded by even more water elements.
